Together (2003)

Actually I was considering A-. Anyway I could have seen this movie a long time ago when I was in college. However it is until today I finally watched it. Story line is OK, although not great. Chen’s wife functions a little bit weird in this movie, kinda feels like Chen create such a role just for his wife. Music is good. I actually love Tchaikovksy’s that piece a lot. Sorry I cannot remember the name for it but well, it is an amazing violin concerto. And that’s why ’til now Tchaikovsky is still my favorite classical composer. (Aren’t we talking about movie here?)
OK. The ending is still kinda sudden, the same as many Chinese movies. One reason seems that they cannot give a better ending; or the possibly endings are just so common. So we just end the movie in a special way, even the audience may want to know more: e.g. whether the boy could go to the international contest. Whatever, I am still not quite used to such kind of Chinese way of ending a movie. The revealing of the boy’s relationship with his father is kind of inadequate. But over all this is a good movie. I think B+ is not too much.
